7 Easy Updates for Kids' Rooms

A few small updates in a room can create a fresh, new look without investing in an entire room makeover. This month our blog is focusing on room refreshes and sharing simple tips to help achieve them. Next up, kids’ rooms. Kids’ rooms are one of the most fun spaces to update because of the use of color, pattern and creativity. Are you ready to give your kid’s room a fun, new update? Here we go! 1. Creative Paint

We are firm believers in the power of paint, especially in a child’s room. However, do something different than painting the whole room. Try painting half of the wall, just one wall, the ceiling, or even try stripes. Be creative.

2. Floors With a Statement

Don’t forget about the floor, so anchor your room with a rug. For a big refresh, go bold with color or pattern. For small budgets, go with a smaller accent rug under seating.

3. Light it Up

Replace that builder grade ceiling light for something you will want people to notice. Good lighting will stay timeless and still look great as your child grows up. BONUS: New light fixtures are one of the best ways to add value to a room.

4. Pattern-Filled Walls

Wallpaper can make a big statement in a room. If you are scared of permanent wallpaper, give temporary wallpaper a chance. For small budgets, use temporary wallpaper on just one of the walls and make it the focal point in the room.

5. Take a Seat

A room is instantly more inviting when there are places to sit, and a kid’s room is no exception. Add a small play table with chairs, a coffee table with stools or poufs or an accent chair.

6. Dress Up the Bed

The bed is the main piece of furniture in a room so make it look special. Replace the whole bedding set for a brand new look or simply replace the throw pillows or the comforter for a quick and easy refresh.

7. Stunning Storage

The ever-growing toy collection is the trickiest part of all kid rooms, so why not make the toy storage pretty? Kids are always accumulating more toys so having extra bins and baskets on hand are the best places to start.
