How To's 3 Items Worth Splurging On 04/17/2022 Share Budgeting for a room makeover can be tricky. Should the budget be evenly distributed for all items needed in the room? Or should you pick certain items to save on? Or to splurge on? We deal with budgets everyday here at SwatchPop and there are 3 items we typically tend to splurge on when designing. Keep reading to find out what they are and why we splurge on them! 1. WINDOW TREATMENTS The right window treatments are the secret weapon to a beautiful room. So many details and measurements go into choosing window treatments so spending a little more money to buy the perfect ones for your home are going to be worth it. We often see clients choosing low budget curtains in incorrect lengths and widths which results in windows that aren’t adequately covered or look "off". If the budget allows, we highly recommend splurging on window treatments to get them right the first time. 2. SEATING Based on a recent study, the majority of adults spend over 6 hours a day sitting. This means your body will thank you if you splurge a little more on comfortable seating. Also, large furniture (like sofas and chairs) take up a lot of space in a home so buying pieces you absolutely love and will use for many years is a great investment. The price per use on seating will be well worth the extra money you put into them. 3. PILLOWS Decorative throw pillows are the final touches in a room that add the color, texture and pattern that will help finish off a room. We often splurge a little more on designer fabrics that have unique patterns and colors. We also use quality inserts and pillow sizes that properly fit the space. These are the small details that will instantly take your room to another level. Trust us, you won’t regret it. We realize that there are many items that would be worth splurging on, so everyone’s list is going to be different. Budgets are something we work with everyday and we are constantly deciding which items are worth splurging on, but these 3 are always making their way to the top of our list. HAPPY DECORATING!
